Admissions

The school takes new admission for all years at the start of the school year.

All girls are welcomed to apply. Applicants will be admitted according to the following order of priorities:

 

New students who are:

1. Practising Sunni Muslims

2. A Sister of a current pupil

3. Recent former students of Islamic primary/secondary schools

4. Knowledgeable and have understanding of the Urdu Language

5. Residing in close proximity to The Fountain

6. Supportive of the ethos of the school if a Non-Muslim, together with her parents,

Note: The term ‘sister’ refers to children who reside with the same family at the same address. Children living with the same family e.g. foster children and step-sisters are also included but cousin-sisters are not.

The School recognises that the vast majority of students are either bilingual or at various levels of English. The school therefore provides Classroom Assistants and extra lessons as and when required. Students that arrive from abroad and are at various levels in English will be assessed before admission.

The school will also provide, after assessment, one to one assistance for English as an additional language to students who require it.

If a girl wishes to be admitted with a physical disability, we have a school lift with ready access between all four floors. The school has wheelchair access to all learning areas and appropriate disabled toilet facility. The school does not have LEA SENCO provision; however, parents with children who have SEN can apply at their own discretion. We will endeavour to do our best to support such children.

 

The school aims to provide an inclusive education to all its students allowing them access to the full available curriculum without discrimination.

 

Application Procedure

The school has a one class entry for Year 7.  The school admits students from Year 7 upwards.  Admission forms are available at the school office from the school administration staff or can be downloaded here.  The completed form must be returned to the school with a Madrasah and school report or can be emailed to admin@fountainschool.co.uk. Applications forms will be subsequently processed and all prospective students will be asked to attend an interview at the school in Feb/March.  Parents will be notified in writing if their daughter/s has been offered a school place for the next academic year by the first week of May at the latest.  All parents of new students will be contacted thereafter with the relevant information to help them prepare and start the new academic year. Appeals for a School Place

If your daughter/s has not been offered a place at the school, you can submit your appeal in writing, within 28 days of refusal, addressed to the Proprietor Maulana M. Irshad Afsar. His decision will be final.
