Homework

Homework will be set and marked regularly. We want all students at The Fountain School to achieve their maximum potential and, to this end, homework is very important since it encourages students to develop their organisational skills and their habits of independent thought and individual study.  Homework helps students to reflect on what they have done at school and gives them the opportunity to test their knowledge and make sure of their own learning. Students cannot complete the work required for GCSEs without homework.

 

To help promote the daily routine of recording and planning homework, students will be issued with a homework diary, which will also be used for communication between the school and home and ensure that tasks set are completed as required. The relevant subject teacher will primarily monitor the dairy, together with the head who checks the dairies weekly.

Students who are absent when work is set are expected to consult their colleague’s homework diaries or consult their subject teacher in order that the set homework is completed and that they do not fall behind.

 

Students are also given homework online on Sparx Maths. They can access their accounts from home and complete the given tasks set by their teachers.
